HSE 'top ten bizarre health and safety bans'

Health and safety legislation exists to protect people from real risks but the HSE clearly has a sense of humour and has published ten of the most bizarre health bans or restrictions that they have spotted in media coverage over the last year.

From bumper cars being banned to prevent injury from, well, bumping, to banning sack races at school sports days for fear of injury, the HSE list shows where we may be going slightly over the top as far as being cautious is concerned.
