Our services are fully compliant with Competence Specific Medical Fitness Requirements and we are ‘Link-Up’ approved under the Achilles rail industry supplier scheme (registration number: 14349).
In addition to our standard pre-employment health assessments for non-safety critical and safety critical employees, we can provide a full-range of specialist rail medicals including:
- Competence Specific Medical Fitness medicals e.g. PTS, COSS, IWA and Signallers & Cross Keepers etc
- Train Driver and Train Movement

- Periodic
All certification is produced promptly, posted and securely faxed to you as soon as it is available.

Drug & Alcohol Screening

Healthcare Connections offer full drug and alcohol screening services to our rail clients including:
- Standard emergency & Premium ‘For Cause’ (available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year)
- Unannounced
- Random
- Periodic
- Pre-employment screening
- 24 hour, 7 days a week medication checking service
Under GE/RT 8070 Testing Railway Safety Critical Workers for Drugs & Alcohol, we will work with you to determine your specific requirements.
All urine specimens are taken by fully trained, experienced Collection Officers under Chain of Custody procedures either at our nationwide medical facilities, on site at a location of your choice or on site using one of our mobile units.
A rapid turn around of results is our standard service, and comes at no additional cost to you.
In addition, we can help you meet the Group Standard requirements for random testing of the workforce. Our service includes the random selection of staff, professional specimen collection and reporting of results. For further information on our Drug & Alcohol Policy click here.
London Underground

It is a requirement* of London Underground that all personnel requiring track certification training must be medically assessed before being referred for their initial training. In addition, London Underground operates a continual programme of medical assessment and training as part of its on-going commitment to the highest standards of safety.
Staff who have critical duties on or about the track must not suffer from any condition or disability or take treatment which may affect their own safety or that of others. This includes medical conditions or treatment which may cause:

Sudden incapacity or loss of consciousness

Impaired vision or hearing

Impairment of awareness, concentration, balance or co-ordination

Significant limitation of mobility
In our London medical centres, Healthcare Connections fully trained doctors and nurses can conduct Protection Master, Track Competent and Track Accustomed medicals. The LUL medical can also be taken in conjunction with any other rail specific medical for one reduced price, saving you time and money.
