Constructing Better Health (CBH)
Healthcare Connections is very proud to have been the first occupational health provider in the UK to become fully accredited and able to provide medical services under the Fitness for Task Standards for the construction industry.
The new standards have been issued by Constructing Better Health (CBH), a non-profit making organisation responsible for the improvement of health of workers in the construction industry.The CBH is responsible for setting industry standards for both work-related health issues, and competency of occupational health provision. Membership of the CBH National Scheme is for all contractors regardless of size or turnover.
What Do the Standards Mean for You?
The National Standards for Occupational Health in Construction give contractors clear guidance on maintaining a healthy company health and safety policy. The HSE estimated in 2007 that 2 million people suffered from an illness caused or made worse by their working environment. Contractors who work within the standards gain real benefits not only from a reduction in days lost due to work related illness but also from their reputation as a good employer with visible investment in employee health and welfare.

Crossrail
Healthcare Connections has been fully approved as Occupational Health Providers to Crossrail and is authorised to supply both Preventative and Reactive care to all organisations working on the Crossrail project. The company has recently undergone a full and thorough audit on the service it provides, carried out on behalf of Crossrail and in accordance with CBH standards. Healthcare Connections passed the audit with flying colours.
As the first provider to receive accreditation under the Constructing Better Health supplier scheme, the Crossrail approval comes as a welcome extension of service to Healthcare Connections’ renowned construction and rail offerings.
